Whatever you buy, never ever buy one of the supermarket jobs.

You have to keep trying guitars until you find one that falls in love with you.
Taylors are dead and dull, I wouldn't bother unless you want your guitar playing to resemble Necrophilia

If you are looking for a travel size acoustic, the Taylor GS Mini completely blows away the Martin Ed Sheeran.

Both look decent, and both should sound decent hooked up to a system. One's a bigger dreadnought though, while one's a bit smaller which means you should think of what kind of sound you're lookinf for, particularly when playing unplugged. Do you like to bash big chords or pick out little details etc etc.

I wouldn't buy online. I did buy my last one without trying it, but that was from an established music shop who were the official merchants for the brand I was interested in. Got a 12 string Seagull ordered from the factory in Quebec. They have what I thought was near top TOP quality goods, but for a price that came out most expensive of the lower league price range....if that makes sense.

Don't rush your decision.

Re: Question for the who guitar experts?
and I might add that rather than looking at a particular one and deciding you must have it (presumably based on looks) just go to a guitar shop and play a bunch of them. How it sounds and feels in your hands is much more important than what it looks like (unless you're a poser) or anything else. For instance I expect that Ed Sheeran one is 50 quid dearer just because it's got his name on it.

Re: Question for the who guitar experts?
In this price range, there are scores of decent guitars, but I'd never buy a guitar, without trying it first. Why a Martin? You do know that the only thing 'Martin' about these guitars, is the name badge?

It seems to me, that you are wanting to buy a 'brand', (Martin) rather than an instrument; and though I have nothing against Martin guitars, I have a D41, I would still look around at several, before choosing the one that I really liked.

I would also recommend, that you have the guitar 'set up', by a professional. Good luck, whichever one you choose. :-)

Re: Question for the who guitar experts?
Both look nice.

I have a Martin and a Sigma which was a Japanese company that copied Martin guitars which forced Martin to buy them out.

As Josh say's though never buy online as you really must try the guitar.

Good luck.
